Barnsley Live, the towns beloved multi-venue music festival, is back today! Each year, the event grows in both scale and popularity, solidifying its reputation as one of the premier local music festivals in the North of England.
The festival, renowned for its diverse musical offerings, has become a staple for music lovers in Barnsley and South Yorkshire. Attendees will find all participating bars and venues within a stone’s throw of each other, making it easy to hop from one performance to the next. Conveniently located just a few yards from the Barnsley Interchange, the festival ensures that music enthusiasts can effortlessly immerse themselves in the day.
Barnsley Live has always been a crowd-pleaser, but this year’s event has been voted the most anticipated by followers of Best of Barnsley. The festival’s venue list continues to grows, with the introduction of new stages at Now Serving and The Botanist. The former Glass Works stage has also been transformed into a pop-up tipi bar, featuring a central stage and both indoor and outdoor sections.
The festival will officially kick-off at The Glass Works with a performance by Tom Masters, following an opening speech by the town's new mayor at midday. Music will start at most venues around 1:00 PM, allowing attendees to dive into a full day of performances. In collaboration with local bars, the festival has created ‘quiet spaces’ where attendees can take a break from the hustle and bustle, ensuring a more inclusive and comfortable environment for everyone.
This year, Barnsley Live is proud to partner with Barnsley Carers Service, the official charity partner for 2024. The festival will help raise funds to support this vital organisation, which provides essential services to carers in the community.
